Atlas conjures up many different meanings and that is why we chose that name to represent us. Atlas itself has roots in the spine; you could say that it is the root of your spine. So naturally it relates to Chiropractic care. The Atlas, or C1 in technical terms, is the bone at the very top of your spine, the one that leads the way. So in those terms the name Atlas makes perfect sense. Of course Atlas also refers to mapping and travel, we all use Atlases plan out a safe journey. In addition to those terms Atlas, according to Mythology had the strength to hold up the world on his shoulders. We look to all those meanings to sum up what our practice wants to give you. We want to make certain you are on the right journey to better health. So just like the mythological Atlas you have the strength to carry, perhaps not the weight of the world, but at least your little portion of it.
As you know taking a trip usually involves learning new things before you get there. We believe that a well-informed patient has a better opportunity to be healthier then one that just gets “fixed.” We are looking to enhance your quality of life for your lifetime, not just until the pain stops. Which is where most of take a wrong turn. When we don’t hurt anymore, we stop listening to our bodies and go back at full tilt until, uh-oh the pain comes back again. And we wonder how did that happen? We want to teach you methods, easy steps you can take to gain and retain proper health. By creating an individualized plan for you that includes simple maintenance techniques such as, exercise and proper body mechanics. Sometimes just making some small changes will produce amazing results. Plus you’ll be giving yourself the best gift ever a healthy body, and your body will thank you for years to come. We just don’t want to give you a quick fix and send you on your way. Long-term results are what we are looking to give you. That doesn’t mean that you’ll be tied up with appointments 3 days a week for the rest of your life. Many other chiropractors subscribe to those methods, which in some cases are warranted. We know your free time is valuable and making time for the doctor and your health, while is of the utmost importance, is sometimes hard to do.
After your initial exam, a treatment plan will be explained to you. Many of our treatment plans involve a variety of modalities including but not limited to chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, massage therapy and physiotherapy. In most cases your initial treatment will involve a short period of multiple visits per week. Then when you and the doctor are both satisfied with your progress you will be placed on a maintenance program. That program could entail weekly, Bi-weekly or eventually monthly visits depending upon your condition.
